The laboratory

ABOUT US

The laboratory belongs to the Condensed Matter Physics Department of the Science Faculty of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. We are active in the Nicolás Cabrera Institute and the the Condensed Matter Physics Center (IFIMAC). IFIMAC is recognized as a María de Maeztu Excellence Center.

The laboratoy gathers knowledge and facilites for low temperature experiments, with the aim to characterize and understand the properties of materials of topical scientific interest or a potential for technological applications.

The laboratory also develops and uses self-made instrumentation, mostly in collaboration with SEGAINVEX. The laboratoy is open to provide services for partners and has a year-long track record of tests made for industrial partners.

The laboratory is associated to the ICMM-CSIC. Together with ICMM-CSIC, we actively use the Helium liquefaction facility which is run by the SEGAINVEX and has the largest liquid Helium production of the country. We also often collaborate with ICMM-CSIC, sharing equipment and resources. One of the research team members (Ramos) works with the ion acceleration facility of the UAM.
